SCOTTY, ENERGIZE!

More than 30 years ago, the spaceship Enterprise took of from earth for the infinite reaches of space, boldly going where no man had gone before. At the helm were Captain James T. Kirk and the Vulcan science officer Mr. Spock. This was also the beginning of the most successful science-fiction TV series ever. Today "Star Trek - The Original Series" is a classic, but the legend continues in feature films and new TV-adventures with all-new crews representing not only different human ethnic groups but different alien races as well

With "Star Trek: The Exhibition" Paramount Pictures presents a variety of original models, props, and costumes to the public for the first time. Large exhibits like the bridge of the original Enterprise and the transporter room from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" create the illusion of really being there, while video-clips and sound effects complete a genuine Star Trek experience.

Space, the final frontier...

The roots of "Star Trek" can be found in the sixties, a decade in which the race between the superpowers for supremacy in spaceflight brought scientific interest in outer space to a climax. Astronauts were heroes, fulfilling mankind's century old dream of travelling to the stars. Inspired by all this, a Texan named Gene Roddenberry created a tale of the 23rd century, a science-fiction television series called STAR TREK.

  • In contrast to the reality of his time, equality of races and sexes reigned on board the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701. Under the command of the daring Captain James T. Kirk and in service of the United Federation of Planets the multi-ethnical crew carried out their mission of exploring new life and new civilizations.
  • In 1966, the first episode was broadcast on America's NBC television network. In May, 1972, "Star Trek" first reached German television under the title "Raumschiff Enterprise".
  • Not very successful in the beginning, "Star Trek" slowly became a cult-phenomenon that spun off three subsequent TV series and eight feature films - so far!
  • STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION
  • In 1987, the new technological advanced U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701-D was launched. On board was an all-new crew, ready to continue the mission.under the guidance of their somewhat more sophisticated C captain Jean-Luc Picard.
  • STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE
  • The third series takes place on the space station Deep Space Nine, located at the edge of the known universe. Lead by Commander Benjamin Sisko, the crew's job is to maintain peace in the region, which is no easy task.
  • STAR TREK: VOYAGER
  • Even while Deep Space Nine was still being aired, Paramount Pictures developed a fourth Star Trek series. Stranded in the distant Delta Quadrant as a result of unfortunate circumstances, the crew under Captain Kathryn Janeway struggles to find it's way back home.
  • STAR TREK: THE MOVIES
  • In 1979, the first of eight feature films to date opened. After more than a decade, "Star Trek: The Movie" reunited the old crew of the original Enterprise under Captain Kirk. Five films with the original cast followed. With the seventh feature, "Star Trek: Generations", the focus changed to Captain Picard and his crew. In the fall of 1998, the ninth feature will reach theaters throughout the world.
